Welcome to Paradise! Enjoy glorious views from the mountains to the Arabian Sea, and the lagoons. Let’s explore the place, then set up a tent near the lagoon and eat together under the stars if the weather permits.

Day 2

Enjoy breakfast in paradise before you get ready for your first adventure of the day. In the nearby mountains, we’ll hike to the dreamlike caves where the local Socotris lived more than 200 years ago. Local cavemen will guide us through this incredible visit. Next, we’ll see what’s happening in the lagoon, an explosion of marine life like you’ve never seen before.

Day 3

A new day, a new adventure. We will embark on a local fishing boat and go for a boat trip between rocky and steep mountains. Our tour will take us to Shoab Beach where we’ll see dolphins and exotic marine life. Then we’re going camping on the beach and meeting local fishermen.

Day 4

We will head to the mountains to explore the stunning rock formations and the blood trees forests. The 4×4 trip will take approximately 3 hours to reach our next camping site camp where we will rest and indulge in a group dinner.

On the local Caminos of dragon blood tree, walk in one of the most emblematic places of the island, enjoy a lunch under the shade of these natural masterpieces and let the time stop before embarking on our 4×4 adventure again. We will reach the top of the mountain, the heart of the native forest just on time to experience the best sunset of your life.

Day 6

Get Ready, today we travel to the northeast of the island to see the massive dunes with views of the Arabian Sea and with landscapes of rocky mountains that are the soul of what makes Socotra special. We will then have a beach lunch and rest before going on a one and half hour hike in the mountain to reach Hoq cave, one of the most emblematic visits of the island.

Day 7

After a quick stop at the city of Hadibo for covid-19 PCR test, we will continue our trip to the base of the mountains and go on a 30-minute walk with our local guides to discover a unique natural pool. Rest, enjoy the sun, and take magical photos in this magical place. At sunset, we will have dinner at a local restaurant and savor the local cuisine.

Day 8

On the last day of this trip, we will have breakfast together in the city before going to the airport. We understand it is difficult to leave this paradise, but we promise new beautiful locations, unique itineraries and outstanding adventures.

FAQ

Socotra – An Adventure of 60 Million Years

  • What do we do if there is no wind?

There is a surprise activity that can be arranged on windless days. Socotra is filled with wonders, a hike, or a boat trip, will be organized.

  • Can I join this tour as a kitesurf beginner?

The Socotra tour is aimed at riders with at least an intermediate level and with experience and skills that must include riding comfortably in wavy conditions and the ability to ride toeside. For further questions regarding your skill level, contact us and our experts will guide you.

  • What equipment is required to bring to the downwind?

It is vital to bring three kites in good condition in a golf bag. Kite sizes should range between 6 to 12 meters. Maximum two boards per rider, (we recommend a twin tip and a surfboard).  It is also vital to bring two bars that match the kite you are using and a harness that is in good condition. We also recommend bringing a comfortable life jacket as well. Our 4x4s will carry the extra equipment by the shore so that you have constant access to the gear and support.

  • Should I purchase travel protection and insurance?

Yes, it is mandatory to purchase travel protection. Learn more about our Travel Protection Plans HERE (https://www.aig.ae/individual/travel-insurance)

  • If I book a tour, is it guaranteed to run?

Most of our trips are guaranteed to run with just six people booked on a tour. An additional supplement may be required to run the tour if the minimum number of guests is not met. Our tour Coordinators will be in touch in case such a situation arises. For more information please talk to your tour coordinator.

  • Are non-kiters welcome on Kite trips?

Please note that minors (under 18) must be accompanied by a guardian who will take full responsibility. Furthermore, we encourage all families with children under 16 to select a private tour.
