- What can I expect on this expedition?
You can expect many things that include riding and exploring kitesurfing in the most remote places on the Omani Coast with expert kitesurfing leaders. Visit the pink lake, explore marine life and refresh yourself with the breeze of ancient trade winds. Feel the freedom of kitesurfing with dolphins and greetings by the turtles on the beach. We ride everyday along the coast of Oman, connect with Omani fishermen when we are back on the beach, and stay at the best resorts. During this Kite trip, you will discover an uncountable amount of kite spots in the east of Oman. We kiteboard, enjoying the waves and the sun. We stay a few days in the resorts to be more relaxing with packing and moving to the next destination.
- How many kilometers on average will I kitesurf per day?
The average distance covered per day is around 50 km. With a rest stop every 20 kilometers approximately.
- What if I get tired and cannot continue the tour?
Our 4x4s will support you and be near the shore throughout the tour, you may stop to rest at any time, and be transported in the vehicles to keep up with the tour, once you catch your breath, you’ll be able to rejoin the tour.
- What do we do if there is no wind?
There is a surprise activity that can be arranged on windless days like a beautiful hike and swimming in a beautiful wadi.
- Can I join this tour as a kitesurf beginner?
The Oman coast downwind tour is aimed at riders with at least an intermediate level and with experience and skills that must include riding comfortably in wavy conditions and the ability to ride toeside. for further questions regarding your skill level contact us and our experts will guide you.
- What equipment is required to bring to the downwind?
It is vital to bring three kites in good condition neatly packed in a golf bag. The kite sizes should range between 6 to 12 meters. Maximum two boards per rider, (we recommend a twin-tip and a surfboard). It is also vital to bring two bars that match the kite you are using and a harness that is in good condition. We also recommend bringing a comfortable life jacket as well. Our 4x4s will carry the extra equipment by the shore so that you may have constant access to the gear and support.
- What about luggage size?
This tour is very logistically complex since our customers will come with their kite equipment as well. It is recommended to pack your kite equipment in a golf bag and to bring a cabin-sized suitcase for personal belongings. The recommended dimensions are mentioned in the table below.

- If I book a tour, is it guaranteed to run?
Most of our trips are guaranteed to run with just six people booked on a tour. An additional supplement may be required to run the tour if the minimum number of guests is not met. Our tour Coordinators will be in touch in case such a situation arises. For more information please talk to your tour coordinator.
- Are non-kiters welcome on Kite trips?
Of course! Travelers with companions who prefer not to kite can still experience our favorite destinations in Wake Up style. The price of our tours typically includes accommodation, meals, and activities beyond kiting; our price per person is the same for kiters and non-kiters.
- Can Wake Up Organize Private tours?

- Can my children come on tour?
Please note that minors (under 18) must be accompanied by a guardian who will take full responsibility. Furthermore, we encourage all families with children under 16 to select private tours. Whether you’re traveling with young children, teenagers, young adults, or multiple generations, our private itineraries appeal to everyone’s interests and levels of activity. Our tour coordinator can help you select one of our existing Family itineraries or work with you to create something especially for you and your family.
- How do you accommodate dietary restrictions?
We go above and beyond to meet your dietary needs and communicate your restrictions, allergies, and preferences for restaurant meals, and culinary experiences. When booking a tour, we recommend discussing dietary restrictions with one of our experts to ensure your destination is a good fit. Once you’ve booked your tour, we gather detailed information about your dietary preferences to alert your guides in advance.
- What is a Single Supplement?
Our tours are priced based on double occupancy. A Single Supplement is an additional charge that secures a private room for solo travelers. Wake Up will match people by family or relationship first and then by gender In case of double occupancy.
